At MJL Puppet Design, I understand how important it is to create a lasting visual impact. My puppet building services are available and customizable to suit all needs. With creating a custom original character, I’ll help you achieve the look and style, as well as specific functionality of the puppet you have in mind. From the initial character design concept to the final outcome of the piece, I work diligently towards bringing your vision to life in the most professional manner.
Nostalgia plays a large role in brining my character renditions to life in MJL Design rendition form, creating custom-created versions of classic characters based on individual client specifications. Whether its an individual character or a full cast, any and all existing characters are possible to be built from my own mind's eye directly to your own hands.
Since the early days of my career, I’ve had a strong passion for creating large walk-around puppet costumed characters. Characters created to be performed by hand, mech and lever controlled as well as radio controlled, allowing movement of key head and body features. All forms of walk-around puppet costume movement are an option as I go above and beyond to ensure my clients' large puppet suit functionalities get the attention they need and deserve.
Puppet Commission Steps
1. Connecting.
Reach out to me with your puppet needs. No project is too big or too small.
2. Details.
All you need is an idea of what you would like, reference photos and sketches work well. I am happy to advise what would work best for your specific needs.
3. Schedule.
Each puppet is handcrafted to order with full-attention to detail. General wait-times vary and are usually 3 to 6 months out until the startup, unless otherwise noted at the time of ordering. Once your puppet commission order is placed you will be given an estimated date of completion.
4. Commission Rates
Pricing is based on complexity of the order and will be discussed in the details and scheduling stage.
5. Shipping.
I ship worldwide via UPS, FedEx, and USPS. Once your puppet or puppets are ready I will send photos of the completed puppet prior to shipping.
